Public Dialogue With Bisi Silva and Curator Christa Clarke
The Newark Museum is known for its outstanding public programs. This Friday, May 7 from 6 to 8 pm, Christa Clarke, Curator, Arts of Africa, and Senior Curator, Arts of Africa and the Americas, and Bisi Silva, Founder and Director of the Centre for Contemporary Art in Lagos, Nigeria, will engage in a public dialogue entited, “Contemporary Art in a Transnational Age.”

Christa Clarke and Bisi Silva will talk about the growing impact of transnational curatorial practice and its potential for dynamic new forms of exhibition-making and cultural exchange. This event is planned in conjunction with the opening of a new gallery devoted to contemporary arts of Africa from the Museum’s permanent collection, the first such gallery in the country.
